The Beacon Leadership Team (BLT) students and staff ended the year on a strong note with their second round of cultural awareness events aimed at increasing BIPOC students’ sense of belonging at their schools.

The 2024–25 school year was full of challenges—unpredictable and complex—but one thing remained constant: the unwavering commitment of community school professionals who continued to show up for the youth and families of San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).

Cultivating the future of Beacon leadership is at the heart of SFBI’s Ladders of Leadership program. Known as “LoL” to participants and staff, this program is in service of a sustainable workforce and the illumination of career pathways into and through the Beacon network.

Every January, Beacon Way Day (BWD) is dedicated to gathering our community and unplugging from normal programming to enhance professional development. Beacon leaders across the city had the opportunity to mingle with the larger network and strengthen bonds within their teams at San Francisco State University.
